{The Zomerlei Family}

As I mentioned before that there would be more of Kate and Aaron...well now we add in the whole Zomerlei family! I have known this family most of my life. As we have all grown up, they have also grown in number and are no doubt, a ton of fun! I was asked to do a shoot with them a couple days after Christmas, as everyone would be in the area. We headed just across the road to take some pictures by an old barn that was once owned by another member of the extended Zomerlei family. Everyone shook up some hand warmers and threw them in their mittens to try to keep some warmth amidst the cold Michigan winter. We got some great pictures, especially with the light snow fall...and even got to sneak in Penny, the newest addition to the family and to the newly engaged couple, the puppy! Congrats Dan and Heather! :) Enjoy!

{Brooke & Trevor}

I recently did a shoot for my brother and sister-in-law. They wanted some pictures taken of their two kids to put in their Christmas cards. We went out to the woods in my parent's back yard where I plopped down a red chair that really stood out against the white snow, and we snapped some pictures. The kids were really excited when I told them of the snowball idea, but that excitement quickly disappeared when I exclaimed that they were not to actually throw the ball at their sibling! :) As I gain photography experience, and grow to love it more and more, I am also starting to collect some props, including the red chair and the frame.

{Kate & Aaron}

I had an assignment in my Photojournalism class to do a shoot that showed a relationship. It could be between a husband and wife, siblings, dog and owner, etc. I asked one of my best friends Kate, if she would be willing to let me use her and her boyfriend as my models. They are so in love and have plans to be married in the next couple of years. The day was perfect and the pictures turned out great! I'm sure you will be seeing more of these two in the upcoming posts!

{Cornerstone University Sports}

I recently began shooting some sports action at the University I attend. I really began to enjoy this type of photography and once thought about becoming a sports photographer. These are a few pictures from the men's soccer team and the volleyball team of 2009.
